All hurdle, after hurdle after hurdle. Still on the plus side there’s plenty of blogging material in it all, which will follow in due course.

Simple pleasures

“What is it with you and notebooks?”

Was the question the boyfriend posed to me the other day, as I stood browsing notebooks, before purchasing myself a new ‘pretty’ to add to my collection.

“you have so many…”

he said, and he’s right, I do. At the current count I have a total of 28, in varying shapes, sizes and styles, lined up ready to use.

I really do love the, but it’s not just an obsession, or a collection, there’s a sensible side to the fact that I have so many too. You see, like most people, I often feel the need to spend money on myself because I deserve it, because I haven’t done it for a while, or even as a simple pick me up. The thing is doing this too often can be an expensive habit.

Notebooks are relatively cheap to buy. It’s rare that one costs as much as £10 although I do have a couple of really expensive ones. I can pretty much buy one whenever I want or need too, without breaking the bank.

They are also useful and they don’t expire or wear out, they just sit on the shelf until it’s time to fill them up with fabulousness.

They fit my needs without bankrupting me and that’s a good thing, that and the fact that they are of course all just gorgeous too.

Today’s ear worm – This is where I stop.

This is a song I’ve always loved since childhood, a song I’ve never forgotten to this day. Odd lines from it pop into my head every now and then and it has a strange way of always seeming to suit whatever mood I am in.

I played it in full for what was probably the first time in around ten years, last night, and despite under normal circumstances only remembering snippets at a time, last night it came out word perfect.
