Not Quite Fright Night

I was trying to take a picture of the moon and tonight’s sky as I was totally entranced by how pretty, albeit eerie it looked.

Sadly I was on my way to work so I only had my iPhone with me and I wasn’t impressed by this shot.

So I played about and ended up with this…. eek!

Think Twice

Sometimes it takes an outsider to say ‘you may want to rethink that’, and I’m guessing that there wasn’t one around when the eye catching acronym on this van was created, especially as it seems to bear no resemblance to the service it refers to.

It does however appeal to the childish parts of my brain and make me think lots of silly things.

Cookies!

I had fortune cookies for breakfast.

The ‘fortune’ said

“Success is often the result of taking a misstep in the right direction”

and this is very true, it happened to me.

I had several interviews and tried for three years to get a job working in our area centre, when my job was based just a few miles away from my home. It had good hours and great money, but I never got in. I got disheartened after a while and stayed in the support office for it so I would at least always be close.

Then as the company restructured, the way they all do every few years nowadays, I got pushed sideways into a job fifty miles away from home.

One year after my side step I was sat quietly at my desk, when someone walked up to me and asked if I wanted the equivalent job to that one I’d been trying to get for years, only this time in our national centre? Oh and could you decide by tomorrow, as the job starts next week…

Which is why I am still here 7 years later doing that dream job.
